Why Are Nigerians Not Talking About the Poor Quality of Education in The Country?


Virgin land remains virgin until it becomes popular. Same with ideas, invention, innovation, etc. No one talk about a new thing until it becomes widespread. So, Nigeria not covering news of the terrible state of the education means that the subject is an unexplored territory. This subject should no longer seat unexplored. Let dust be raised; let Nigerians be aware of the problem; let Nigerians take the issue of less-quality education important not to dwell on frivolities.
News About Quality Is Not Raising Dust in Nigeria.

Obviously, the news about the standard of education in Nigeria is not raising dust and no one is talking about it. National dailies, TV channels, radio stations, online news outlets, journalists, educationists, among other individuals or publicity institutions who suppose to place the matter of poor-standard of education in Nigeria are not seeing the seriousness of the matter.
I think that the poor education problem is not talked about because the people who should have raised the dust do not know that the problem even exist. This problem is subtle and easily hides under plain sight. This could be as a result of the blurring difference between education and quality education.
Nigerians are educated but not quality education, education even a formal/institutionalized one can lack quality. The quality really matters. In fact, that’s the defining contrast between effective schooling and mere schooling. No doubt, Nigeria boost of hundreds of thousands of schools varying from pre-school to universities, but a terrible systematic failure leads to these schools churning more educated-ignorant masses than aware-educated masses.
No one talks about this problem as it not so obvious on the surface. However, the consequences of the system failure are huge and terrible.  We are under-developed just because of these consequences.
We must now peer deeper into education issues to see the problem. Let’s peel the top skin of education issue and uncover the brut that is responsible for our nemesis. Just having schools is not enough, it must be quality to be useful.
Talk more quality education less frivolities
This is a problem to dwell until it is solved. Unlike frivolous issues like entertainment which everyone talks about, the poor-quality education issue should even be focused the more. With a good education system that generates high-skilled individuals, entertainment issues become more interesting and rich.
Spread the message
Spread the message right now and make the issue of high-quality education a front of the burner problem. Share this post on social media handle; tell people around you about the problem. Creative people should write about this issue and let Nigerians know that poor-quality education is the menace devastating the country.
